Her experiences in Hair, Make Up and Fashion have led her to positions such as Product Development Director for L'oreal USA -Soft Sheen Carson Division and The East/West Coast Regional Training Manager for Benefit Cosmetics. She is bi coastal and currently the Director of The National Training Team for Hair & Make Up Artist. Her infectious personality and excitement for everything beauty has made her one of the most sought after in the industry. Today, as a Professional MUA, Hairstylist and Lifestyle Coach, she owns 4 companies all based on helping propel people especially Women to feel beautiful and get to the Next Level of living, whether it be in Hair, Beauty, Cosmetics, Business, Lifestyle or Relationships. I am Dr. Joy Scott; nutritionist, weight loss coach, superfoodist and vegetarian. I specialize in helping people apply proper food combinations, utilize super foods, and detoxify the body. I have been featured in newspaper articles, on television and radio, and have conducted countless lectures/seminars.
I graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from St Bernard College, in Cullman Alabama. I later went on earn my PhD in Nutrition at Clayton College of Natural Health. To fulfill my mission in life, I owned and operated a health food store in Monroe, GA for 16 years.
I am currently teaching healthy cooking and nutrition classes with topics such as “You Are What You Eat”, “Kitchen Makeovers”, and Health and Wellness According to Your Blood Type”. I offer churches, companies and small groups’ weekly health and wellness seminars. I am also available for demonstrations and private nutritional consultations. I am known for my “raw” pies, flaxseed fritters, 20 minute waterless collard greens, and “raw” lasagna.
My passion is to help you make positive lifestyle changes to become a healthier you! That belief and devotion has allowed me to help change the lives of individuals, families and communities from coast to coast. I continue with that mission today with the vision that everyone deserves a healthier life, not only for themselves, but also for their family.
Actually I am merely someone who believes in pursuing the things that I find both interesting and stimulating, and operating in excellence.
As a result, I’ve have a successful career serving as customer service representative, marketing communications consultant, marketing manager, and training implementation specialist. I began my career at Illinois Bell and retired early from Ameritech Services Inc. to establish my own consulting firm.
During a 30 year career span in the marketing, technology, and training fields, I was fortunate enough to be provided with what I like to refer to as “grooming”. Every time I moved up a rung in the corporate ladder I was further groomed; learning how to dress and communicate effectively, how to set goals, how to eliminate the clutter in my mind and life, and how to determine the communication personality of anyone I encountered. This allowed me to communicate in such a manner so we both (or all) left the meeting table with our needs met and able to focus on a common goal
I promised myself that when I “grew up”, my contribution would be to share the grooming techniques that I learned over the years, and to have fun doing just that!
