How does  our consignment work?

 We accept & sell items your special items.  
Then we share a percentage with you! 

New accounts are accepted on Tuesday and Wednesday (on Friday-Saturday, by appointment only). Please call to schedule.

 

• Items are accepted seasonally and should be no more than 2-3 years old. Some vintage items will be considered.

• Please bring clothing on hangers or folded neatly in baskets. This helps us to keep them organized. Within five business days, we will email to you an itemized computer inventory sheet listing the accepted merchandise for consignment and confirming your drop-off and pick-up dates.

• We will not accept items in garbage bags.

 

A minimum of 5 acceptable items is required to establish an account - so bring 10 just in case! There is no limit to the number of items brought in, but we do reserve the right to refuse any item which does not meet TSC standards.

 

• Items should be freshly laundered and pressed, or dry cleaned. Damaged or odorous merchandise will not be taken on consignment. (Inspect pieces and ask, "Would I buy this for myself?")

• Merchandise is priced according to its condition and present retail value. The store reserves the right to determine the value of an item; however, your input is welcomed.

• When an item sells, your portion of the sale price is immediately credited to your account. Call, email or stop in to check on your account status.

What Is Consignment?
It's when you allow someone to sell your merchandise on your behalf and share a percentage of the selling price.

 

What is the percentage split?
Consignors receive 50% of the sale price of items that sell up to $499 

Consignors receive 60% of the sale price of items that sell for $500-$999
Consignors receive 75% of the sale price of items that sell for $1000 +

 

How Long is the consignment period at The Style Closet Keep?

Our consignment period is 90 days. We will markdown items after the first 20 days (25%) and 45 days (50%). After 70 days, storewide sales, coupons, or other promotions may reduce the price of the merchandise at any time.

 

Final Clearance - Items that have not sold during the consignment period, even at the marked down prices, are further reduced to 75% off the original price or are put on the final clearance rack.

 

How Will I Be Paid?
Check, Direct Deposit, or use credit for a purchase from our racks. 
Enjoy 10% off non-clearance purchases made with store credit! 
Monies/credit left unused for 12 months or longer are automatically forfeited by the consignor. 

 

When Am I Paid?
The first week of each month.

 

What Does TSC Accept On Consignment?

GENTLY used women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories (hats, scarves and jewelry).

Select decor and small furnishings may be considered. 

 

What Clothing Style Sells Best at TSC?

We accept for consignment, separates including tops, cardigans, dresses, slacks, premium denim and skirts.

We will also feature designer fashions, accessories and basic business suits.

 

What Doesn't TSC Accept?
We do not accept swimwear, active-wear, and lingerie for consignment.

 

What if my items don’t sell?

We will inform you if your items don’t sell. It is your responsibility to pick up all unsold items at the end of your consignment term. Your items will be available for you on your pick up date. After your pick up date, any unclaimed merchandise will be deemed forfeited to The Style Closet in consideration for services rendered.
